Hey everyone, thanks for joining us again today. We are here to talk about an important topic today: earthquakes. The recent devastating quakes in Nepal are a good reminder to be prepared for the inevitable in California. Here are some useful tips, from the Red Cross:
  • Make sure you have a flashlight and sturdy shoes by each person's bed.
  • Have your home securely anchored to its foundation.
  • Bolt and brace your water heater or any other large appliances to the house with earthquake straps.
  • Hang heavy items away from where people sit or sleep.
  • Keep beds away from windows.
  • Brace any overhead light fixtures.
  • Install strong latches on cabinets and cupboards.
  • Make sure you have an earthquake kit handy at your home.
  • Make sure you know how to shut off your gas valves.

We want you to stay safe the next time we have an earthquake here in California, and hopefully these tips will help you out. If you have any questions about this topic, the Red Cross has some great information on their website.

If you are thinking of buying or selling real estate here in Orange County over the next year, feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
