One of the things I’m very passionate about is giving back to the community.

Starting on June 3rd, I’m going to participate in a ride called AIDS/Lifecycle. This bike ride is seven days and 545 miles long, from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

I hope you will help support this event!.

This is my sixth or seventh year participating in the ride. It is a great event that raises millions of dollars for lifesaving services offered by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
I hope you will support this event by making a donation here. Don’t worry, I’ll still check in on work if you need me. Today, I'm here with Lisa Hain of Trusted Life Care. I want to highlight her business because I think she offers a very valuable service to our community.

What services does Trusted Life Care provide? Trusted Life Care is a home health and home care business. We send medical staff and licensed caregivers into a person's residence.

What age range do you work with? We don't work within a specific age range. We help children, adults, and the elderly. Some of our clients get out of the hospital and need a little extra help, so the age of our clients varies.

How do your services benefit your clients? Many clients have family caregivers. This family member is looking after them 24 hours a day, 7 days week. This person is getting worn out because they are not taking care of themselves, so we step in and give them a little break. By providing relief for family caregivers, we revitalize them to continue caring for their loved one.

What advice do you have for family members whose loved one resists help even though they really need it? If you're the caregiver, you can say, "This is for me." Have us come in for a few hours one day a week to cover some basics, such as cooking, cleaning, or washing their hair. Stopping by once a week helps ease the client into the care. It is extremely difficult to have someone come into your home to help you, especially if that person is a stranger. We like to introduce our caregivers to the clients, and we also check in with the client and caregiver to make sure everything is going well.
