Long Beach Real Estate AgentToday I am here to talk to you about a common misconception about grant deeds. Usually when you purchase a new home or refinance on your current one, you start getting letters in the mail from places like "The Local Records Office" or something similarly as generic. These mailings look official, but then request you to send money in exchange for a copy of your grant deed.

Although these services will take your money and send you a copy of your grant deed, it's unnecessary to do so. You can, in fact, obtain a copy of your grant deed from a governmental office and once it's recorded, they will mail you a copy.

I just wanted to make sure you all knew about this, so you can save some time and money if you're buying or refinancing in the near future. If you end up needing one down the line, I'd be happy to help you get a copy free of charge. Just give me a call or send me an email, and pass this info on to anybody you think it may be relevant to so they can do the same!
