How You Can Save Money With Solar Power

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to my video blog.  Today, I have with me Mark Johnson of Solar City.

There’s been some talk lately about energy bills increasing over the next few years. Mark is going to tell us about solar power and how it can save you money!

I’m so glad Melinda invited me here today.

The cost of energy has been on the rise. From 1970 to 2000, the price for energy remained constant at 2 cents per kilowatt. Now, you’re paying 20 cents per kilowatt. That is more than a 300 percent increase and it averages to a 100 percent increase every decade.

Currently your only option for energy is to buy from your utility provider. I’m here to let you know, though, about another solution. Green energy is cheaper and you can lock in low costs for decades.

Having a solar powered home can also add value to it. The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory did a nine-year study of solar power on 72,000 homes. Two thousand of the homes already had solar equipment, while the other 70,000 had it installed. The study showed that on average there was an increase in value of $5 per watt. That translates to $5,000 per kilowatt.

The simplest system we offer is a two-kilowatt. You will add $10,000-$20,000 in value to your home. So if you are interested in learning more about solar power and how you can benefit from it give me a call at 310.569.7348 and be sure to mention Melinda’s name!

Thanks!
